The Design + Development Associate will execute the assortment strategy and product development process for our Tabletop and Decor categories while fostering business relationships to grow revenue and align with the financial, merchandising, and company strategies.
This is a hybrid position based out of our CB2 Headquarters in Chicago, Illinois.
A day in the life as a Design + Development Associate…
- Execute all operational aspects of category product management by working with cross-functional departments
- Manage the life of a SKU, from creation to in-store launch, to ensure the success of new product launch
- Make recommendations to the Product Merchant and negotiate on behalf of the company with vendors in terms of business, such as initial shipment details, payment terms and quality issues
- Central point of contact for issues outside the team’s scope of work involving scheduling, resources, or technical issues for stores and cross-functional departments
- Gather and synthesize information from partners to make strategic recommendations to Merchant
- Participate with decision making process by providing expert recommendations to Merchant regarding seasonal and core product mix for a given department
- Analyze sales information in order to identify opportunities to increase sales and margins
- Build and maintain assortment plans and SKU counts
- Efficiently meet deadlines for the catalog merchandising schedule, including sample management and verifying product information
- Lead and develop the Merchandising Operations Assistant, and ensure milestones and deadlines are met so new product launches on time
- Build product style-out presentation sheets and assortment plans
- Create merchandise presentations and present new and seasonal products in Marketing, eCommerce, as well as store training videos
- Possess a complete knowledge of all products currently in the assigned product assortment
- Ownership of categories in class and SKU level sales meetings
