Merchandising Operations Assistant

This is an on-site position (Monday through Thursday) based out of our Chicago, IL office with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays.
Maximize company growth and sales by providing product set up and operational support to the merchandising team. Collaborate with the team on assortment set up execution to drive financial growth and align on company strategies.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for SKU set up and maintenance support for a category of products including Item Data set up, sample tracking and in-season sku data.
- Work with the merchandising team, vendors and distribution centers to resolve shipping/receiving discrepancies.
- Update Purchase Orders in season and manage related vendor communication per direction from the Product Team.
- Manage invoice discrepancies and chargebacks.
- Support Merchant and Design & Development Teams with seasonal assortment preparation and sample reviews.
- Timely management of data integrity to support and enable accurate assortment set up on system, sales tracking and reporting.
- Assist the Associate Merchant with maintaining Item Data.
- Assist with photographing product samples for the product database.
- Work with the merchandising team to generate weekly and monthly sales and inventory reports.
- Monitor e-commerce site for assortment flow, product images and selling information.
- Drive a positive customer experience by regularly monitoring and responding to customer reviews and requests from the field.
- Manage special projects as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Ability to ensure timely processing of SKU requests and meeting SLA expectations.

- Ability to summarize complex business requirements simply in both written and verbal form.
- Communicate effectively and efficiently with all company associates and business contacts in a timely manner.
- Teamwork:
- Promotes a strong sense of teamwork.
- Demonstrated agility and the ability to assist others as needed to meet deadlines.
- Customer Service (Internal and External):
- Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of service, support and follow through to buying teams, planning teams, agents and vendors.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proficient in Google Suites, Microsoft Suites (Excel). Ability to learn company operating systems and Merchandising processes.
- High proficiency and ability to compile and summarize large amounts of data in a clear and concise manner.
Experience Required:
- Bachelor's Degree required, retail or related study preferred
- 1 year post graduation retail store or equivalent experience preferred
- Excel and Google experience preferred.
