Art Director, Digital + Video
Location: Chicago, IllinoisCB2 is transforming the perception of home design for today's modern consumer. The Art Director, Digital + Video will be responsible for developing creative concepts, overseeing production, and finalizing execution for paid media, owned social channels, and e-commerce videos. This role requires collaboration with senior creative leaders and partners to ensure all creative output effectively communicates the intended message, idea, or concept, consistently advancing the brand's creative vision.
This is an on-site position (Monday through Thursday) based out of our CB2 office in Chicago, IL with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays
A day in the life as an Art Director, Digital + Video...
- Support key creative projects with a primary focus on paid media, owned social channels and ecommerce video
- Create innovative designs, images and videos
- Work closely with the Creative Director to conceptualize the look and feel for seasonal campaigns, collaborations and partnerships
- Lead design projects from inception to launch
- Work closely with the organic social media and paid media teams to sculpt the look and feel of our digital presence
- Present storyboards and ideas to the broader team for approval
- Direct photo and video teams on set, both in photo studio and on location
- Build shot lists and assist with asset management and organizing footage
- Edit and/or direct final edits of video footage
- Stay current on industry trends, share learnings with the creative team, and pull inspiration and examples from multiple sources to inform projects
- Collaborate with internal teams to support multi-channel initiatives
- Manage junior designers
What you’ll bring to the table…
- Formal design skills and proven passion for typography, composition, color, and layout
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Thorough, organized, and detail-oriented
- Ability to give and receive an effective critique of visual design work
- Proven ability to work in a team environment
- Experienced in creating engaging visuals for digital channels
- Strong understanding of studio, product, and editorial photography and video.
- Experience with directing both photo and video
- Well-versed in social media specifications and requirements
- Ability to thrive in a complex, fast-paced environment, adaptable to change and can balance multiple activities at once while making appropriate progress against them all
- Consistently achieves desired outcomes on time and with a minimum of avoidable errors and issues
- Current and informed on best practices and latest industry trends, digital platforms, media, techniques and materials
We’d love to hear from you if you have…
- Must provide a link to portfolio (including password) on resume or provide PDF samples
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Proven ability to work in a team environment
- Proficient skills in Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, InDesign, and other internal tools
- Love and mastery of typography required
- Photography & videography skills are a plus
