Designer, Interactive Design
Location: RemoteCB2 is transforming the perception of home design for today's modern consumer. Born out of Crate and Barrel, CB2 is committed to high-quality, sophisticated design at an approachable price. Located in downtown Chicago, CB2 offers an engaging, collaborative work environment. The Interactive Designer will execute designs for web-based brand content and digital interfaces that support CB2 brand and marketing initiatives for CB2.com and CB2 app. Use content management systems to build and launch content that aligns with seasonal and promotional calendars. Deliver interactive digital solutions that are customer-focused, intuitive, accessible, and meet all brand standards.
A day in the life as an Interactive Designer…
- Design and produce visual assets for brand and marketing banners, landing pages, and other digital touchpoints.
- Build and launch web content, promotions, and campaigns using CMS tools.
- Create and enhance eCommerce interactions, leveraging motion and interactivity to engage users.
- Monitor and optimize site performance, speed, and accessibility across devices and browsers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Product, IT, Marketing, and other designers—to deliver cohesive brand experiences.
- Support the development and maintenance of consistent visual design patterns, standards, and specifications.
- Manage multiple projects effectively, delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced retail environment.
What you’ll bring to the table…
- Excellent visual design skills, including typography, layout, color, interaction, and motion, with the ability to balance customer needs and business goals.
- Experience building responsive, cross-browser, high-performance, and accessible digital experiences.
- Strong communication skills, including presenting design rationale clearly, writing concisely, and collaborating effectively.
- Self-motivated and able to execute design work independently.
- Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment.
- Highly collaborative, working seamlessly with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented, with a keen eye for design consistency and quality.
We’d love to hear from you if you have…
- Must provide a link to portfolio (including password) on resume or provide PDF samples
- 2+ years of experience designing and building websites or digital interfaces.
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Visual Communication, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Comfortable working on MacOS.
- Knowledge of HTML and CSS a plus.
- Experience with video editing and creating motion graphics for the web a plus.
- Familiarity with retail industry a plus.
- Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0).
- Familiarity with website content management systems (CMS).

Minimum Starting Rate: $78,000.00 AnnuallyUp to: $89,900.00 AnnuallyPay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable state and local law.
